The Camino Cellars Triple Play

Tadeo at Montecillo.jpg

Tadeo Borchardt invited me to taste his latest and greatest Camino Cellars releases. Man oh man are they tasty and, no surprise, come highly recommended. These are soulful, beautiful, expressive wines that are really delicious now AND will improve with time should you choose to cellar them. Case production of all three wines combined is under 300 cases. I unequivocally recommend all three in my Camino “Triple Play,” but if you were to buy one…
CAMINO Cabernet “Montecillo” 2016 is a pre-release offer by Tadeo to Flavor Mountain readers. A “Mountain Cab,” it comes from Sonoma’s Moon Mountain district, just over a ridge from Napa’s Mt Veeder District. The wine is fantastic: dark fruits galore, lush and powerful with undercurrents of soil and earthy spice.

The Camino “Triple Play” are these three wines:
Camino Chardonnay “Soberanes Vineyard”
Santa Lucia Highlands 2016 ($42)

Camino Pinot Noir “Umino Vineyard”
Sonoma Coast 2016 ($50)

Camino Cabernet Sauvignon “Montecillo Vineyard”
Moon Mountain 2016 ($60)
