Hi Flavor Mountain readers, this is Dan Dawson. I’m here to tell you how the business of Flavor Mountain works. I’m going to open up the hood and show you what’s inside, as it were.
I help the core wineries I feature sell wine. For this, the wineries pay me a commission on the sales made from my wine offers, trackable by the discount code you submit at time of your purchase.
It’s no surprise to you that my stories and reviews come with a vested interest, I suppose. If you know me from my days owning Back Room Wines, you appreciate my honest opinions of wines I recommend and know I value my professional integrity almost as much as my family. If you don’t know me, I share this with you: at Flavor Mountain I’ve partnered with wineries that I’ve known for many years, and through my experience know that they make exceptional wine, almost every time. I stand behind the wines that my featured wineries make, whether I reviewed them or not. That said, if there is a wine I can’t recommend, I will not include it in my offer. My core wineries know that.

And from time to time I will feature a wine not from my core winery list. These wines also come with my 100% professional recommendation.

Speaking of full disclosure, on the personal side, we all want to love what we do for a living. Do what you love and get paid for it, right? Connecting wine lovers with wines they want to drink, but just don’t know it yet, is something I do very well. And I know wineries that make awesome wine but need help finding new customers. I get to hang out with these wineries, keep up with their wines, tell you about them, and make a living doing it. That’s pretty cool!
